Abstract:

In the era of saving the nation from extinction, the Communist Party of China (CPC), guided by Marxist labor theory, linked education with labor in revolutionary base areas; thus, created the education truly belonging to the masses of workers and peasants, and took the first step in the sinicization of Marxist education ideology. The practical exploration of the “integration of education and labor” in revolutionary base areas has gone through three exploration stages, fully utilizing the educational, political, and economic functions of labor, thoroughly transforming the absence of “labor” in the old culture, and establishing a new culture and new education that advocates labor in revolutionary base areas. Labor education in the new era should inherit and learn from the important experiences of the “integration of education and labor” in the revolutionary base areas to highlight Chinese characteristics, meet the needs of the times, and cultivate a new generation that respects and loves labor.
