    Xu Hui
    Education Science    2020, 36 (5): 27-34.
    Abstract1748)   HTML77)    PDF(pc) (992KB)(1965)       Save

Western ancient labor education faces the public and production practice, and has a clear tendency to manual labor. Labor education exists in general education, and mainly focuses on the production of material products and maintaining the needs of people’s lives, as well as people’s needs for physical exercise and health. The biggest and most distinctive characteristic of modern labor education is the emergence of school labor education and special labor education courses in schools. Labor education has the characteristics of class, production, enlightening and leisure. Modern labor education pays more attention to the educational function, which is manifested in the obvious increase of labor education tasks, the increasingly diversified forms of labor education, and the more institutionalized and standardized content of labor education serving the country. The theories of labor education in western history have close connection with political, economical, cultural and scientific development of human beings at that time. The theories of labor education in each era have its own character and content.

    Abstract1011)   HTML609)    PDF(pc) (1268KB)(1396)       Save

Based on the exploration and reflection ononline teaching, it should be recognized that information technology is only one aspect for promoting teaching reform. While, students’“learning and true learning” should be paid more attention. Learning motivation is the key. Teachers should make the content of the teaching materials interesting, useful and meaningful to increase the “viscosity” of student learning. Online and offline teaching, which are just different carriers of knowledge presentation, all need to go through the three basic links of reading, thinking and expressing, from the perspective of student learning. In order to move from new technology to new form, online teaching needs to be endowed with new technology education function, focus on the requirements of education mode reform, rebuild teaching values, restructure teaching structure, recreate teaching procedures, restructure teaching culture, and promote the combination of online and offline education system.“Home-based online learning” triggers thinking about learning in an informal learning environment. The development of learning resources in an informal learning environment should point to the goal of educating people, develop core literacy, and adhere to the principles of priority, inclusiveness and scientificity. The curriculum and instructional design of online teaching need to observe and respond to multiple aspects of the epidemic and the impact of the epidemic on learners. At the same time, corresponding teaching strategies should be adopted to support and promote student learning. In the post-epidemic period, when the online education model is more integrated into offline courses, classrooms and teaching, the new mixed education system needs to go beyond the technical perspective, restructure the training and monitoring mechanism in the system, and design more professional courses and teaching so as to empower students and learning. In the future, the new normal of mixed online and offline teaching in elementary and middle schools should focus on three core elements: digital resources, process reengineering, and organizational management. At the same time, schools and external institutions will go to the same path of online and offline integration, and there will be plenty of room for cooperation in building and sharing high-quality educational resources. It is hoped that the school education after the resumption of school will retain the concept of “learning as the center”, retain the “Internet Plus” teaching method, retain the memory of the epidemic of the students, and make the epidemic become a resource for students' growth.

    Abstract1071)   HTML84)    PDF(pc) (895KB)(1261)       Save

A comprehensive and systematic study of China's kindergarten-primary school transition policy content is the basis for rethinking the scientific nature of the policy, and it is also the basis for in-depth research on the implementation of the policy. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, China's kindergarten-primary school transition policy had regulated four aspects: the implementing body and objects, the goals of implementing, the implementation measures, and the implementation guarantee of the transition. Through the analysis of the three elements of policy norms, objectives, targets, and measures in the three dimensions of completeness, scientificity, and innovation, it is found that the policy objectives of the policy for the convergence of young children only focus on solving surface problems, the policy targets are not comprehensive enough, and the policy measures lack a system matching. In the future, to improve the content of China's kindergarten-primary school transition policy, we should further clarify the goals of the policy, define policy objects accurately and clearly, and improve the supporting measures.

Primary and secondary school mental health education is an integral part of school education, and promoting mental health education in primary and middle schools is an important social cornerstone for consolidating a healthy China. However, the development of mental health education in elementary and middle schools in our country is still a little inadequate, showing a clear medical clinical tendency, moral education tendency and empirical education tendency. Mental health education is an integral part of school education. The educational attributes of mental health in primary and secondary schools in our country should be constantly strengthened. We must adhere to the guiding role of mental health education in primary and secondary schools, strengthen the cultural confidence of mental health education in primary and secondary schools in China, and consolidate the cultural heritage of mental health education in primary and secondary schools in our country. In the future, the mental health education in primary and secondary schools in our country will inevitably continue to deepen, and therefore, education-related departments and primary and secondary school management subjects should support on the policy level;the construction of teachers and courses in primary and middle schools should be professional and scientific; and a joint mechanism and a home-school co-education system should be emphasized.

Currently, STEM education has become a hot topic in the k-12 education field at home and abroad. It has inherent compatibility with China’s kindergarten science education, and is an important reference for the reform of China’s kindergarten science education. Therefore, China’s kindergarten science education reform can seek breakthroughs in four aspects. First, to establish the goal system of science education with STEAM literacy as the reference, so as to overcome the problem that kindergartens pay too much attention to scientific knowledge and neglect the cultivation of children’s ability to solve simple problems. Second, STEAM educational theme project is taken as the starting point to organize educational content to promote the integration of disciplines so as to cultivate children’s core quality. Third, driven by STEAM problem exploration, to carry out scientific education activities in kindergartenand mobilize children’s enthusiasm for exploration. Fourth, taking STEAM education ecology as a link to develop and utilize science education resources, to promote the accumulation and integration of superior resources, and to improve the quality of science learning.

Study on the Educational Inheriting Responsibility of Intangible Cultural Heritage——Taking Poya Song Book as an Example
    Dong Yunchuan, Lin Miaoyu
    Education Science    2020, 36 (1): 9-14.
    Abstract628)   HTML786)    PDF(pc) (954KB)(1103)       Save

The protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage is a common problem faced by all countries around the world. The Poya Song Book in Funing Zhuang area of Yunnan is a “living fossil” of the intangible cultural heritage. In reality, the drive of various external forces blurs the purpose and direction of the inheritance, and local education actively follows up but with an unclear orientation. Due to the imperfect endogenous mechanism and excessive dependence on external forces, there is a contrast between the inheritance willingness and the actual educational effect. The study believes that: first of all, in the purpose of education, the contradiction between traditional culture and modern education is not handled well; second, in the design of educational content, the student experience and the content of the course are obviously out of line; third, the existence of the instrument reason and the indexing orientation in the education process; fourth, the school education environment has already separated from the true ethnic life. The case reflects the potential typical conflict between local culture and modern education from one aspect. Using the theory of education philosophy and sociology to clarify the role of the intangible cultural heritage education in human and culture, as well as the relationship between the intangible cultural heritage education and modernization, is a rational and better way out for taking the educational inheriting responsibility of the intangible cultural heritage.

    Abstract701)   HTML789)    PDF(pc) (904KB)(875)       Save

The ethical identification of teacher identity is a process in which individual teachers gradually shape and confirm their own moral personality, as well as the spiritual growth and development of teacher as a moral subject. However, teachers’ individual morality must have a universal character in order to obtain real ethical identification. Since school is the real field for teachers to obtain ethical identification, the ethicality of school is the logical premise for teacher identity. In view of the fact that bureaucracy and market logic have seriously eroded the ethical relationship and order of school, the universality of school ethics has encountered unprecedented challenges. School needs to strengthen the construction of ethical norms to provide a good ethical environment for the ethical identification of teachers. At the same time, as the main body of the school, teachers also need to eliminate the separation between themselves and the school, construct the identity with the school’s ethical spirit, and truly realize the internal unity of individual interests and the school’s goals.

The cultivation of teachers' morality has always been an important issue in academic circles. Since entering the new era, people from all walks of life have paid more attention to the cultivation of teachers' ethics, which has gradually become the focus of research. How to improve the moral cultivation of teachers in the new era and make them meet the requirements of the new era is an important issue that we need to study. We think the teachers' ethics fosterage is the proper meaning of teacher's professional development, which includes three levels: moral model, man of moral and moral saint. In the level of moral model, the main representation of teachers' moral is professional code of ethics, and the moral aim is “society”. Teachers follow the professional code of ethics because of the arrangement of character. In the level of man of moral, the main representation of teachers' moral is moral trait inside, and the moral aim is “self”. Teachers hold the moral trait because of subject consciousness. In the level of moral saint, the main representation of teachers' moral is noble moral personality, and the moral aim is “the other”. Teachers attain the humanity perfection because of goodwill. The three stages of moral model, man of moral and moral saint are essential, which spiral up and gradually achieve the improvement of teachers' moral cultivation.

    Abstract813)   HTML48)    PDF(pc) (972KB)(830)       Save

As an important method for teachers to grasp students’ learning, classroom observation is helpful to improve the effectiveness of teaching. Methods of classroom observation have been diversified over the long period of time, emphasizing the trend of combining quantitative research with qualitative research. In light of practical meanings, Individual-Student Observation, as an effective classroom observation method, turns to be more suitable for front-line teachers, marking the transformation of classroom observation paradigm. Specifically, the purpose of observation has been shifted from “observation-evaluation” to “observation-self-reflection”; the observation focus has been shifted from “teaching process” to “the whole process of students’ learning”; and the depth has been shifted from “students’ external behavior” to “students’ mental world”. At the same time, Individual-Student Observation encourages researchers to go deep into the students’ learning and then explain the critical incidence of students’ learning, which are mainly manifested in the following five aspects: the time when the students’ learning psychological state changes; the time when the students’ unique cognitive style appears; the difficulty of students’ learning; the time when the social relations between students are presented; and the time when students’ learning achievements are revealed. In addition, classroom observation should be combined with after-class discussion on the recall and multi-facet analysis of students’ critical incidence so as to rediscover students’ learning and improve teaching.

Four Issues in the Centennial Study of Dewey’s “Child-Centered” in China:A Critical Review

    Abstract659)   HTML43)    PDF(pc) (1013KB)(823)       Save

Since Dewey came to China in 1919 to preach his educational thought of “Child-Centered”, his research has gone through “the first 100 years”. Some general academic consensus has also been established, but there are still many theoretical fog to be further uncovered. The English expression of “Child-Centered” is confused, and the etymological research on it is still lacking. The implication of “center”, “starting point” and “center of gravity” based on different argumentation approaches not only enriches the connotation of “child-centered” theory, but also widens the cognitive divergence. The theoretical tendencies of “Instinct Center”, “Experience Center” and “Life Center” have further increased their complexity. Misplacing the concept of “child-centered” as “child-oriented” may lead to a long-term cognitive dislocation. In addition, with the deepening of the research, whether Dewey is a child-centered theorist or not has become an academic unsolved case that shakes the premise of Dewey’s child-centered research. Solving the “China research’s problems” of Dewey’s “child-centered” is not only a subject of hermeneutics, but also the unity of approach tension and dialectic of “the construction of truth and reality”, as well as a way to create a “Chinese version” of Dewey’s educational thought research.

Looking back on the 70 years development of textbooks, it is found that the period of textbook diversification is obviously longer than the period of unified compilation and nationwide usage.Since the founding of the New China, textbooks have gone through two iterations of diversification and unification. First of all, from the early liberation of diversification to the first unification and general; then it enters the second diversification of decentralization exploration and then enters the second quasi-uniform general stage of restoration and adjustment. From 1966 to 1977, textbooks entered the stage of disordered diversification, and from 1978, textbooks briefly returned to the general use of unified compilation. With the advance of reform and opening up, textbooks have entered a long period of diversification. The 1980s and 1990s were basically the diversification phase of top-level design, while the 21st century was basically the diversification phase of demand-oriented design. In 2017, the unified compilation of the “three subjects” and the diversification of textbooks of other subjects emerged. It can be seen that since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the competent authorities in China have generally moved forward on the road of exploring the diversification of textbooks. In most periods, the diversification of textbooks has lasted for about 55 years, and the period of unification and common use of textbooks in the real sense is less than 15 years. In the future, the diversification of textbooks will continue to be the trend, and what we will face is not the diversity of textbooks at all, but the diversity of textbooks.

At present, my country is striving to build an education system for the comprehensive training of morality, intelligence, physical, art and labor in the new era, and puts forward the key requirements for comprehensively strengthening the integrated construction of comprehensive and open labor education courses in universities, middle schools and primary schools, and integrate labor education throughout the entire study of students course. The integration of the labor education curriculum in primary, middle and higher education contains the profound connotation of the three stages of overall planning and integration of the whole process of education and the integration of the five aspects of the whole discipline education. The concrete realization of the integration in the labor education curriculum requires the transformation of the big concept of labor education as a ladder and a base point. Through analysis, it can be seen that the big concept of labor education includes 13 sub-concepts in five aspects, namely, labor skills, labor habits, labor attitude, labor spirit and labor value, which constitute the basic structure of labor education curriculum. In the future, it is very necessary to replan the labor education curriculum and expand the space of labor education in schools in the process of designing the integrated labor education curriculum in colleges and primary schools around the big concept of labor education.

    Abstract430)   HTML17)    PDF(pc) (903KB)(770)       Save

Since modern times, family education has gradually received attention from multiple disciplines. In the process of theoretical construction, family education has fallen into a triple dilemma of research perspective, research methodology, and pedagogical implication in discourse expression on account of the characteristics of parenting in the private field, the inheritance of individual daily life experience, and informal education rooted in life. However, constructing the theory of family education within pedagogical perspectives is not only the overall mastery of education as a social practice activity to cultivate people, but also the in-depth interpretation of the logical starting point of education: education promotes the growth of human beings. Besides, the research methodology of family education established in cultural orientation, fusion orientation, and practical orientation, is the precondition of theoretical construction. What's more, the theoretical construction of family education returning to pedagogical perspectives needs to cultivate the theoretical achievements of home education based on household education life, focus on the function of family to promote the development of people and break through the path dependence on the theory of discipline education. Besides, it also requires to clarify the theoretical value of family education based on the cultural character of pedagogy and construct a systematic knowledge system.

Strategies for the Training of Teaching Masters in Primary and Secondary Schools in the New Era
    Zhu Ningbo, Qin Li’nan
    Education Science    2020, 36 (1): 35-42.
    Abstract656)   HTML24)    PDF(pc) (985KB)(760)       Save

The training of teaching masters in primary and middle schools is an important measure to improve the teacher professional level, and it plays a key role in the balanced development of education. Primary and secondary school teaching masters have noble morality, scientific and systematic understandings of teaching rules, and play a demonstrative leading role. Their professional growth requires both external assistance and introspective self-development. However, at present, there are still problems in the training of teaching masters in primary and secondary schools with utilitarian development goals, disconnected theory and teaching practice, weaker professional development awareness of teachers, lack of systematic professional guidance, and poor awareness of reflective teaching and behavioral transformation. The reason is that the professional development of teaching masters are constrained by multiple factors such as social history and culture, teachers’ self-understanding and identity, and co-construction and sharing of the practice community. Therefore, in the new era, the training of teaching masters in primary and middle schools needs to set a “teacher-based” training setting, construct “demand-based” training content, innovate “multiple participation” training methods, and implement “behavior-oriented” training evaluations. In the future, the primary and secondary school teacher training should realize four changes, namely, the training goal is from “external promotion” to “endogenous”, the training method is from “commonality” to “personality”, the training content is from “reflection” to “construction”, and training value is from “individual excellence” to “group symbiosis”, thereby promoting the improvement of the overall level of primary and secondary school teachers.

As a teaching model, online teaching should be investigated in historical process. Throughout the four stages of the teaching model since the twentieth century, we can find that the fundamental motivation for its reform lies in solving the problems in the teaching practice. online teaching is generated in response to the inherent needs of the times and the development of teaching. It has advantages in its nature: solving the contradiction between the differences of students and the unity of class teaching, meeting personalized and independent learning, promoting educational equity, improving classroom efficiency, and realizing timely and effective feedback. Therefore, although online teaching has become a forced choice at present, but it is also an opportunity for the reform of China ’s teaching model. Online teaching should be used to promote the reform of China’s teaching model, by building a “learner-centric”, soft and flexible, a new type teaching model with integrated teaching platform.

It is a task for the professional development of primary school teachers to reveal the content of professional ethics of primary school teachers in our country from both the practical path and morality. At present, the good moralities of primary school teachers are scattered in various educational laws and policy texts at all levels, which constitute one of the rich forms of professional ethics for primary school teachers and are more of a moral contract for society. The moral excellence in the various texts is fragmented, pluralistic and variable, and the consideration of the good of means takes precedence over the care of the inherent good. At the same time, we followed the path of ethical derivation, using the unity of goodness in means and the inherent goodness as the significant criteria searching for a kind of moral status more stable and funda mental. This study found that “love” and “justice” are two critical moralities that form the basic and supportive contents and forms of professional ethics of primary school teachers.

    Education Science    2023, 39 (2): 48-55.
    Abstract2551)   HTML53)    PDF(pc) (1000KB)(726)       Save

The historical evolution of the relationship among education, science and technology, and talents has successively experienced the weak correlation stage of asynchronous appearance, the obvious interactive stage of synchronous existence, the integrated development stage of multiple linkages, and entered the integrated promotion stage of deep integration in the process of Chinese-style modernization. In the reconstruction and adjustment of the relationship between the three in Chinese-style modernization, education, science and technology, and talents have formed a coordinated operation relationship that is integrated and linked. Among them, education is the basis for coordinated operation, talents are the link for coordinated operation, and technology is the link for coordinated operation. The “triangular coordination” operation of the trinity, the “circular mutual promotion” logic of benign interaction, and the “integration and linkage” development of cohesion and complementarity are the fundamental logic for the coordinated advancement of the trinity. The correct handling of the relationship between the three needs to take measures from different dimensions with the three as the core: focus on the fundamental role of education, insist on giving priority to the development of education; focus on the subject support of talents, and implement the leading drive of talents; focus on the power of science and technology role, strengthen the self-reliance and self-improvement of science and technology.

The combination of education and production is an important part of China’s education policy. After 70 years, since the founding of New China, China’s labor education policy has made great progress. Based on the perspective of policy transfer, China’s labor education has gone through five stages which are borrowing from the Soviet Union, exploring own path, thoroughly de-westernization, exploring China’s model, and forming a new era value system. And China’s labor education has also shifted gradually from “instrumental rationality” to “value rationality”. In the future, we should take the integration of five domains of education as a departure point to explore a new path of labor education, along with taking labor education as the key to break the barriers of examination oriented education and deeply promoting the improvement of students’ core literacy and ability, so as to promote moral education; improving the labor education’s curriculum system, and promoting students’ mastery of other subjects by labor education, so as to increase intellectual development; based on the actual needs, establishing a “four-in-one” labor education system for the government, society, family, and school to implement a collaborative innovation system, and enabling workers to obtain self-confirmation in a unified work with purposefulness and regularity so as to cultivating aesthetic ability; and finally, shifting down the focus of educational governance, carrying out the construction of practice base and legal system of labor education system with Chinese characteristics to ensure the effective and sustainable implementation of labor education.
