Abstract:

The education internship stands as a core course in the training system for teacher candidates, playing an irreplaceable role in fostering essential qualities of prospective teachers and enhancing the overall quality of the elementary education teaching workforce. Despite the national policies mandate for the “curricularization” of education internships, there is a lack of accurate grasp of the attributes of educational internship curricular at the practical level, which has led to increasingly prominent practical problems such as the marginality of curricular status, the ambiguity of curricular objectives, the one-sidedness of curricular content, the arbitrariness of curricular implementation, and the simplicity of curricular evaluation. To address the current challenges faced by education internships, there is an urgent need to enhance the curricular development of education internships. This can be achieved by establishing the curricular status of education internships, standardizing the curricular content, improving the curricular system, and optimizing curricular management. These strategies aim to drive the curricularization return of education internships, comprehensively elevating the quality and standards of education internships. This effort will inject new energy into the high-quality training of teachers in the new era.
