Abstract:

In research-oriented universities, the transformation of scientific research achievements of teachers into teaching content is a new exploration of the concept of “unification of scientific research and teaching” in the new historical period from a micro perspective. This study uses a mixed research method to deeply explore the current situation of the transformation of scientific research achievements of humanities and social science (HSS) teachers in a research-oriented university into teaching content. It is found that teachers’transformation awareness is generally high, but there are obvious polarizations in the degree of transformation, showing “high consciousness-high degree” of the “fulfillment type” and “high awareness-low level” of “backfired type”,with distinct group characteristics. In the field of HSS,as a form of knowledge production activities, the transformation of scientific research results into teaching content has obvious individualized characteristics in the specific practice of teachers due to the characteristics of the discipline and the characteristics of the results. Moreover,a good science and education environment and institutional support are the basis for consistency between teachers’ transformation awareness and actions. To this end,on the premise of grasping the characteristics of HSS teachers’ scientific research and their achievements, innovating transformation methods, strengthening discipline team building, and creating a harmonious and scientific transformation environment are needed. In this way, the awareness of transforming teachers’ scientific research achievements into practice has become an important starting point for strengthening the cultivation of talents in research-oriented universities.
