On Teachers’ Respect for Students in Educational Disciplinary Activities

Abstract:

Compared with the general social field, teachers’ respect for students in educational activities has its particularity in the purpose of respect, the content of respect and the relationship between respect and being respected. Reasonable educational discipline reflects the “positive evaluation” required by universal respect and helps students to win the “positive evaluation” in the acquired respect. In practice, realizing “respect for students” when implementing educational discipline should follow the following basic principles, which are establishing the concept that “legal and reasonable implementation of educational discipline means respect for students”, always promoting the development of students as the purpose of educational discipline, strengthening the awareness of universal respect and standardizing the behavior of educational discipline, and combining educational discipline and love to help students to win the acquired respect.
