Abstract:

Failure, as a common experience in human life, has received insufficient attention with regard to its educational significance. Narrow conceptions of education tend to foster a lack of tolerance of failure in educational practice, thereby generating persistent dilemmas in talent development. Accordingly, the educational meaning of tolerance of failure can be elucidated by emphasizing the productive, incremental, and resilience-enhancing functions of educational failure in promoting adaptive growth, iterative talent development, and intellectual maturity, thus underscoring its social significance and educational implications. To cultivate top-notch innovative talents and promote innovative approaches to education, it is essential to adopt a calm and inclusive educational stance, emphasize the developmental process of talent growth, and reintegrate the intrinsic value of educational failure into the educational ecosystem. By reshaping prevailing educational perceptions of failure, aligning educational practice with the objective patterns of talent development, and reinterpreting educational failure from a developmental perspective, a renewed educational paradigm can guide the comprehensive modernization of top-notch innovative talent development in the new era.
