Abstract:

The sense of substitution in teaching is a classroom teaching characteristic in which teachers, by contextualizing teaching content, guide students to immerse themselves in the context and take on roles within it to experience the learning process. It is an important manifestation of excellent teaching, promoting intellectual development by awakening the enthusiasm for knowledge, fostering emotional growth by stimulating emotional resonance, and enhancing literacy through the generation of tacit knowledge. The process of generating the sense of substitution in teaching includes: contextualizing the teaching situation, connecting prior experience to enter the teaching situation, engaging physically and mentally to understand the content, imagining role identities based on the teaching situation, and integrating into the role to achieve a blend of subject and object. To make teaching more immersive, teachers should be skilled at implementing creative teaching methods, encouraging students to engage in reasonable imagination; actively organizing experiential activities to increase student participation in class; expressing teaching situation emotionally to stimulate students’ active involvement; and creating a narrative teaching atmosphere to guide students into a state of immersion.
