Challenges and Countermeasures of the UK International Education in the Context of Brexit and Epidemic Situation

Abstract:

International education helps to enhance the country’s influence in the world. As the leader of the world’s international education market,the motivation for the development of international education in the United Kingdom is to obtain economic benefits,realize the development of national soft power and help the Global Britain strategy. Brexit and the epidemic have brought great challenges to the UK international education. Brexit has led to the contraction of the UK international education and scientific research funds,the loss of scientific researchers and the slowdown in the growth of the number of international students; The epidemic has greatly reduced the flow of people and international education projects,and the international education transferred to online is difficult to meet the needs of high-quality education. In the context of post-Brexit and the normalization of the epidemic, the UK has responded to Brexit by developing multi-level cooperation and interaction between systems, determining the strategy of giving priority to the development of strategic markets for international education, and establishing a positive and lasting global partnership; by improving the level of international education management services And strategies to innovate the form of international education output to optimize the experience of international students in response to the epidemic. Facing major changes unseen in a century, my country needs to continuously innovate and develop international education, and appropriately learn from the experience of British international education development: carry out multi-party cooperation and establish active partnerships; combine with my country’s diplomatic development strategy to improve international education with a global perspective Market layout; improve the level of international education management services, optimize the experience of international students; innovate the form of international education output, and explore new ways of implementation.
