Abstract:

In the stage of postgraduate education, it is common that the supervisor and the postgraduate clash with each other. Intense conflicts will not only lead to serious consequences, but also have a negatively marked impact on the society. To explore the key factors influencing the supervisor-postgraduate relationship, several university teachers, chosen as typical interviewees, are analyzed based on open in-depth interviews. Under the coding process, the key factors are identified and discussed. The factors can be divided into five categories, including recruiting selection, cultivation mode, ability training, communication and dispute resolution. It is proved that the harmonious supervisor-postgraduate relationship can be built by improving the pre-explanation and bilateral-matching admission system, developing scientific and humanized cultivation mode, establishing professional and personalized training mechanisms, building the training system in the faith of freedom, equality, respect and trust, and creating the institutional environment for the synergy construction of supervisor-student relationship.
