The Lost and Return to the Learning Subject’s “Self-Dimension”

Abstract:

“Self” is the inner core of the learning subject, self-awareness at the starting point of learning, self-experience in the learning process, and self-realization in the value orientation of learning results together constitute the basic connotation of the learning subject’s “self-dimension”, which is the development of the student body Endogenous motivation and fundamental factors. However, educators often discuss the development of learning subject from the external dimension with the third person perspective, ignoring the first person perspective of student “self” and the endogenous of self-consciousness, self-experience and self-realization, and then resulting in the loss of “self-dimension” of learning subject. “The study of self-cultivation” is an important part of traditional education and learning thought in China. It attaches great importance to the autonomy, self-consciousness and awakening of the internal self-dimension of the learning subject. It emphasizes “self-erect” in the starting point of learning, “self-awareness” in the process of learning, and “self-cultivation” in the results of learning. Therefore, under the background of the New era, there is a great of practical significance to excavate the rich subject care and self-spiritual strength of the connotation of “self-cultivation” for the realization of the return of “self-dimension” of learning subjects and the creative transformation of traditional Chinese learning thoughts, as well as the construction of educational discourse system with Chinese characteristics and cultural self-confidence.
