Values, Problems and Strategies of the Integration of Traditional Ethnic Sports into Public Physical Education Curriculum in China's Colleges and Universities

Abstract:

Traditional ethnic sports are the precious cultural heritage formed through the long-time social practice activities of all ethnic groups of China, with the function of enhancing individual physical strength, as well as great cultural and educational significance. From the perspective of curriculum education, integrating traditional ethnic sports into public sports in colleges and universities is conducive to enriching the curriculum system of public sports, improving the sports cultural accomplishment and comprehensive ability of college students, and enhancing their awareness of inheriting and carrying forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture. However, in the process of integrating traditional ethnic sports into public sports in colleges and universities, little attention has been paid to traditional ethnic sports, and there lacks sufficient teaching resources of traditional ethnic sports. In order to improve the quality of public sports in colleges and universities and play the educational function of campus sports, colleges and universities should actively strengthen the exchanges of traditional ethnic sports, carry out fun sports competition and modern sports integration development, and accelerate the modernization process of traditional ethnic sports, etc. By adopting participatory public sports management, the health level of college students can be improved, so as to accelerate the integration of traditional ethnic sports and public physical education courses in colleges and universities, promote the further development of traditional ethnic sports in China, and improve the physical quality of teachers and students in colleges and universities.
