Abstract:

Moral education is an important component of the education cause of the Party and the state,the core content of the Party’s education policy,and the basic task of fostering virtue through education. Based on the “two major situations” and the strategic background that human society is entering the era of artificial intelligence, moral education in the new era is related to major issues such as the socialist direction of education, successors to the party’s cause, the future and destiny of the country, and personal growth. It shoulders the responsibility of cultivating and practicing the core values of socialism, carrying forward the excellent culture, revolutionary culture and culture of reform and opening up of the Chinese nation, forging the collective consciousness of the Chinese nation, and cultivating socialist builders and successors. To effectively carry out moral education in the new era, it is essential to develop a new model of moral education practice, which includes: improving the mechanism of establishing moral education and cultivating people; using Xi Jinping’s Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to educate people; building a comprehensive cultivation system of morality, intelligence, physique, aesthetics, and labour skills; solidly promoting the reform and innovation of the integration of ideological and political courses in universities, middle schools and primary schools; using new media and new technologies to make moral education work come alive; and giving full play to the role model role of people's teachers in cultivating morality and cultivating people.
