Abstract:

Improving teachers’rights expression in the university charter of private colleges and universities is essential for safeguarding teachers’ legitimate rights, stabilizing the teaching workforce, and promoting the high-quality development of university charters. This study conducts a textual analysis of the university charter of 84 private colleges and universities using NVivo 14, supplemented by semi-structured interviews. The findings reveal several practical dilemmas in teachers’ rights expression, including insufficient attention, incomplete content, homogenized expression, and the absence of effective protection mechanisms. These issues stem from deficiencies in internal governance structures, irregularities in charter formulation and supervision, and the collective weakening of teachers’ rights awareness. To address these challenges, it is necessary to optimize the textual structure of the university charter, enrich the content of teachers’ rights, and establish sound remedial mechanisms, thereby enhancing teachers’ rights expression in private colleges and universities.
