On Teachers' Assessment Character

Abstract:

Assessment character is an indispensable and important part of teachers' assessment literacy, and it has the connotation of seeking truth, seeking goodness and seeking beauty. The truth-seeking level refers to the scientific character of “doing well” in teaching assessment so as to effectively achieve the purpose of assessment, which mainly includes: the spirit of truth-seeking to face the results, the critical spirit of independent assessment, the spirit of accommodating other opinions, and the quality first craftsman spirit. The level of seeking goodness refers to the ethical character of “doing the right thing” in teaching assessment so that assessment activities can be carried out in a standardized manner, which mainly includes: the benevolence that promotes longevity by evaluation, fairness and justice, a sense of responsibility, and the spirit of cooperation and coordination. At the level of seeking beauty, it refers to the meaningful character of “willingness” to do a good job in teaching assessment, which mainly includes: vision-driven evaluation belief, life-internalized assessment mission, and personality-displayed assessment style.
