Research on the Demand of Educational Support of Parents of Children with Mental Retardation

Abstract:

A survey of 1 510 parents of mentally retarded children found that most parents of mentally retarded children have experience in treating their children,less than half of parents used to receive education and guidance and the quality of educational guidance is not ideal. Most parents of mentally retarded children need educational support and a high demand for educational support. In terms of specific educational support methods, parents expect a low percentage of self-learning through paper media, and the combination of face-to-face instruction and modern information technology is the way they want. Therefore, parents should be provided with correct family education support from the diagnosis of mentally retarded children.
