Exploration of High-Quality Textbook System Construction and Research From the Perspective of Building China into a Leading Country in Education

Abstract:

The construction of a high-quality textbook system serves as a foundational project and a key pillar in building China into a leading country in education. In the new era, textbook construction has undergone a logical evolution toward systematization across the theoretical, historical, and practical dimensions. The construction of a high-quality textbook system that supports building China into a leading country in education is characterized by four core dimensions: a foundational theoretical system for textbooks, a subjective discursive system for textbook development, an ecological governance system for textbooks, and a generative knowledge system for textbook innovation. The future blueprint for constructing a high-quality textbook system with Chinese characteristics in the new era should take consolidation and strengthening of the foundations as its value anchor, and focus on building an all-encompassing theoretical system for textbooks; should take fostering character and cultivating talent as its fundamental goal, and firmly uphold the cultural roots of the textbook discursive system; should adopt collaborative symbiosis as its organizational approach, and promote the efficient upgrading of the textbook governance system; and should take the construction of a digital-intelligent textbook system as a driver of educational innovation, and guide the future direction of textbook research.
