Abstract:

In order to continuously empower the United Nations for sustainable development education, and respond to the urgent needs of the international community for climate change education,UNESCO launched the Greening Education Partnership Initiative in 2022. The initiative is structured around four key pillars, with corresponding action plans actively implemented:the Green Schools pillar promotes development through collaboration;the Green Curriculum pillar seeks to expand the proportion of relevant courses;the Green Teacher Training and Education System Capacity pillar focuses on enhancing professional training for educators;and the Green Communities pillar supports community-driven social transformation. To ensure the smooth implementation and continuous advancement of the initiative,UNESCO has strengthened policy support, ensured sustained financial backing, and actively promoted full institutional engagement across policy, economic, and social dimensions.
