General High Schools Rely on Colleges and Universities: Practical Experience,Challenges and Policy Orientation——Take District A of Shanghai as an Example

Abstract:

With the popularization of higher education and high school education,the state has put forward the goal of diversified and characteristic development of general high schools,and relying on colleges and universities to run schools has become an important way of diversified and characteristic development of senior high schools. The general high schools in district A of Shanghai have accumulated rich experience in relying on colleges and universities to run schools,mainly through the curriculum,teachers,hardware,culture,projects and other aspects to achieve cooperation in running schools relying on university. At the same time,the practical challenges that ordinary high schools in district A are likely to face,when relying on colleges and universities to run schools,include:poor matching between high schools and colleges,incomplete coverage of high schools relying on colleges and universities to run schools,low enthusiasm of students to use resources,and unsound running mechanism of high schools relying on colleges and universities. Based on this,this study puts forward policy recommendations to match high schools and colleges with matching goals,strengthen career planning education under the transformation of the examination selection system,build an open regional curriculum resource sharing platform,and safeguard in-depth cooperation between high schools and colleges,etc.
