Abstract:

The achievement evaluation of humanities and social sciences in colleges and universities is a standard for comprehensively examining and judging the quality and level of scientific research achievements of humanities and social sciences teachers in colleges and universities. The purpose is to promote the “maturation” of the results with evaluation as the starting point, and to explore the creative, advanced and authoritative humanities and social science achievements. Achievement evaluation of humanities and social sciences plays an important dual role in discipline and teachers, which can not only point out the direction of the discipline construction of “first-class” humanities and social sciences in colleges and universities, but also further improve the quality of academic innovation and scientific research education of colleges and universities teachers. It is a key measure to improve the reform and construction of higher education evaluation system. However, because the achievements of humanities and social sciences are more recessive than those of natural sciences, it is difficult to show the value of achievements in a short period of time, and there are great controversies and limitations in their evaluation system. Based on this, this study takes the classic meta-evaluation theory of pedagogy as a perspective, and selects the very representative project achievement evaluation of National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC) as a case. Through the combination of quantitative analysis and expert interviews, this study carried out a meta-evaluation analysis based on “four dimensions and six elements” to find out the existing problems and deviations of existing evaluations, and put forward suggestions for improving the evaluation system of humanities and social sciences achievements in Chinese universities.
