From Capital Gap to Field Separation: A Study of the Family Support Gap in Urban and Rural Education

Abstract:

At present, the inequity of urban-rural education in China due to the support gap is still very prominent.The formation of urban-rural education gap is not only affected by government support, but also by the family's support for children's education. The disadvantage of rural children's education is systematically compiled by the capital gap between urban and rural families, the dividing field where they live, and the schema of family education support behavior based on different capital and field. To solve the problem of urban and rural education inequality caused by the gap in family support, it is a possible solution to build a path of “integration of urban-rural education” based on resource allocation, field integration and value justice.
