“以赛促能”视角下大学生英语国际传播能力框架与培养策略*

A Competence Framework and Cultivation Strategies for University Students’ English International Communication from the Perspective of Competition-Driven Practical Ability Cultivation

摘要:

当代大学生的对外传播能力是国家软实力的核心要素,也是新时代外语教育的核心目标之一。全国英语类赛事是培育此类人才的重要途径。本研究立足“以赛促能”视角,选取参与国际传播导向的全国英语竞赛的大学生为研究样本,采用深度访谈法,围绕大学生英语国际传播能力的内涵界定及实践层面“以赛促能”的核心逻辑展开探究。研究表明,以国际传播为导向的英语类竞赛能正向提升大学生的国际传播意识,赛事全流程有效助力“Z世代”学生群体实现认知、语言、叙事、文化四个能力维度的协同发展。为此,本研究提出“以赛促知、以知促学、以学促能”的培养策略,构建了赛事实践与课堂教学相融合的培养路径,为高校国际传播人才培养、英语赛事优化与外语教学改革提供了实践启示,助力我国当代大学生“用英语讲好中国故事”。

Abstract:

Contemporary university students’ capacity for international communication is a core component of national soft power and one of the key objectives of English education for foreign language talents in the new era. National English competitions provide an important pathway for cultivating such talents. From the perspective of Competition-Driven Practical Ability Cultivation, this study selects university students participating in national English competitions oriented toward international communication as its research participants and adopts in-depth interviews to examine the conceptual definition of university students’ English international communication competence and the core logic of Competition-Driven Practical Ability Cultivation in practice. The findings show that international communication-oriented English competitions can positively enhance university students’ awareness of international communication. The full process of competition participation effectively promotes the coordinated development of “Generation Z” students’ competence in four dimensions: cognition, language, narrative, and culture. Accordingly, this study proposes a cultivation strategy of promoting knowledge through competitions, learning through knowledge, and practical ability through learning, and constructs a cultivation pathway integrating competition practice with classroom teaching. The study offers practical implications for the cultivation of international communication talents in universities, the optimization of English competitions, and the reform of foreign language teaching, thereby helping contemporary Chinese university students tell China’s stories well in English.
