A Rational Analysis of School Space Narratives

Abstract:

School space provides the spatiotemporal environment for educational activities and serves as a distinctive narrative medium. Through thick description of school space on site, its multiple values can be realized,including the intuitive presentation of educational facts, the vivid expression of educational consciousness, and the sharing of educational experience. The expressive logic of school spatial narrative follows the coherence of human cognition and presents a dynamic generative structure of on-site perception, off-site imagination, and return-based reflection. On-site perception produces spatial experience and enhances educational understanding; off-site imagination forms spatial memory and generates educational wisdom; return-based reflection develops spatial knowledge and promotes educational action. To ensure the effective expression of school spatial narrative and the sustained release of its value, it is necessary to strengthen the objectivity of on-site narrative to provide rational educational information, deepen the relevance of off-site narrative to awaken authentic educational memory, and ensure the effectiveness of return-based narrative to advance educational practice toward excellence.
