Abstract:

Moral education responsibility is the key dimension of teachers’ professionalization of moral education, which is related to the construction of high-quality professional teachers and the construction of a powerful country in education in the new era. The moral education responsibility of teachers refers to the duties they must fulfill based on their role in moral education, which is reflected in a series of complex requirements in moral education practice, including cultivating students’ virtues, shaping their moral character, and promoting the development of their ideological and moral qualities. Taking on moral education responsibility is the deep motivation for subject teachers to engage in active teaching practices and continuous professional development. It is also the solid foundation for schools to cultivate well-rounded students, build a holistic education system, and develop a high-level subject teacher workforce. To effectively enable subject teachers to take on their moral education responsibility, it is necessary to integrate the requirements of moral education into the entire process of subject teaching through systems, construct a moral education community based on subject collaboration and class-discipline collaboration, and enhance the moral education literacy of subject teachers through the moral education roles.
